In celebrating my 28th birthday, last week I decided to have a short getaway with my family to Bandung. Actually, we're a frequent Bandung's visitor since my mother-in-law lived in Bandung, however, we just feel bored to stay at their home hahaha...so we move to a hotel for a short staycation. Recently, a friend of mine offered me to try an online hotel booking platform which nowadays trending among travelers who looking for a budget hotel with an audited and best quality room. That sounds interesting for me since my family isn't the one who look for a fancy hotel every time we have a short getaway. Most of the hotel we used during our trip before we're getting married was also a budget hotel. So, we're surfing the internet and find the website www.zenrooms.com. Yup, it's ZEN ROOMS, an online budget hotel network which have more than 16,000 budget and independent hotel's partner around Indonesia. ZEN Rooms offers travelers standardized and audited quality rooms at the best prices, as low as IDR130,000! Wow, that's sounds more interesting for me since recently to find a budget hotel with great services and low prices was so difficult.
ZEN Rooms guarantees the travelers who book the hotel through their website with at least six things: a clean room, comfortable bed, in-room shower, flat-screen TV, air conditioning and wi-fi. Well, that's actually what I'm also looking for every time I booked a budget room. You know sometimes, a budget hotel with low price usually lower their standard for a room. I've experienced several time dude! Low price means you will sleep in an uncomfortable bed with a cockroach popping out under the bed hahaha (that's mine, really I did experienced that in one of budget hotel in Bandung!) Well, with ZEN Rooms, they claimed we will never ever experienced such horrible things.
So, in short, we booked our hotel through ZEN Rooms website. It's also as simple as clicking your finger. Go to www.zenrooms.com, fill in the city where you wish to stay, set the date and click "Showing Room (tunjukkan kamar)".
I looked for a hotel near Dago, fortunately there's a one premium budget hotel available with only IDR540,000 from the original price around IDR837,000. a very geat deal huh! so I clicked the ZEN Rooms Dago, Double Room then here's what I got.
Please remember, ZEN Rooms is different with similar hotel booking website like Agoda, Booking.com or Traveloka, here they will only show you the location of the room not the name of the hotel directly. Why? Because each hotel have a limited ZEN Rooms. So, the best way to find what is the name of the hotel you wish to stay in your desired ZEN Rooms is try to look for the address of the rooms provided (hahaha that works for me a lot!) For example, in the main page of ZEN Rooms Dago, they provide the address of the hotel which is Jl. Ir. H. Juanda no. 90 then I googling the address and voila there's Palais Dago Hotel popped out in that location. Simple, right! After that, you can proceed the payment process and you'll get the confirmation along with the real hotel's location via email.
Sooo, here's our ZEN Rooms at The Palais Dago Hotel. A short introduction of this hotel, The Palais Dago Hotel has already established in Bandung since 2008. The concept was a vintage-boutique hotel with luxurious and elegant interior design. Surprisingly, it's very very beyond my expectation!! The hotel might be a budget hotel, but ZEN Rooms gave us a super duper big room like we stay in a four star hotel. Gosh! Let's do a room tour first!
The bathrooms even bigger then I expected!
I was so happy to stay at this ZEN Rooms Dago. Since the concept of the hotel was a vintage-boutique hotel, the room was also designed fully in a vintage ambiance with a super warm lighting, minimalist furniture in dark brown colors and light brown marbles for the bathroom. The room as promised was equipped with super comfy king size bed, sofa, flat-screen TV, wi-fi, in-room shower, big wardrobe, and long working table adjacent with the mini bar drawer. The best part was, they have a private mini fish pool outside the room. No wonder my kid couldn't stop drowning his feet into the pool hahaha!!
Well, my staycation at ZEN Rooms was again beyond my expectation. Never imagine before that we will get a big yet cozy room in a budget hotel with lower price. Moreover, the hotel surrounding area wasn't bad at all. Let's see what The Palais Dago Hotel have in store a while:
First thing first is their exterior area. I love their European style big dome at the roof top. It was majestic in the day, and a lil bit mystical in the night.
The dome area was also quite instagrammable. Perfect for taking a personal photograph or most people came here for pre-wedding photo session. In this area also, there is their Dabidu Cafe as an all day dining cafe and open for public as well. Their steak was quite famous along Bandung's foodies.
Their lobby area was also so stylish, designed with a European style with a big furnace, vintage stuffs, satin sofas in dominated grey and light purple color, made this lobby area looks like a living room in a house of European noble man. Overall ambiance was so sooo homey!
The rest of the area was their living room equipped with small gym, mushola, mini fish pool with some wooden chairs. I love this hotel so much. Feels like home!
Overall, I have nothing complaint on my staycation. My decision to choose ZEN Rooms was perfectly fit my expectation even beyond. Thank you so much ZEN Rooms for having us. Will always be back to your website to stay at another ZEN Rooms at the other cities. So guys, if you're an avid travelers or a backpacker or simply a person who look for a budget hotel with best quality room, ZEN Rooms might be your best choices.
